Mr. Ahmed Kar
fi is a 1990 B.Sc (Hons) Business Administration Graduate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) from where he also bagged a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1996. He is a specialist in the identification of investment opportunities, investment appraisal, budgeting and budgetary control, and in marketing financial product. He attended several courses both within and outside the country.
On completion of his NYSC, he had a stint as a lecturer with Katsina State Polytechnic before commencing his professional working life with Nigerian Reinsurance Corporation as an Investment Officer (1992-2001). He represented the interest of his employer as an Alternate Director in Dolphin Properties Limited as well as Prudential Securities Ltd. He later worked briefly with Profund Securities Limited and the defunct Liberty Bank Plc. In addition, he worked briefly with the Industrial Dynamic, a communication outfit based in Abuja. His last employer before his appointment as Managing Director/CEO of KIPDECO was Tower Assets Management Limited (Member of Nigerian Stock Exchange) where he rose to the position of Deputy General Manager (Operation/Marketing).
The MD/CEO was born on 10th May, 1968 in London and is married with children. He hails from Karfi in Katsina State and holds Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Registrars and membership of Katsina Foundation for Good Leadership & Development (KAFOGOLD).
He is a Second Class (Upper) graduate in Business Administration with specialization in Actuarial Science and a holder of Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) both obtained from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Since his graduation in 1984 he worked in various institutions including his Alma Mata ABU, Zaria from where he joined the Company in 1989 as Senior Investment Executive. He was promoted to Senior Manager and later to Asst. General Manager (Investment). He has been heading the Investment (now Operations) Department of the Company since 2007. He acted as the MD/CEO of the Company from June 2016 to February 2017).
Within these periods he gathered experiences in industrial management and supervision. He was on the Board of Royal Exchange Assurance of Nig. P1c (1992 - 1999) and currently on Katsina Oil Mills ltd, Tower Galvanised Products Ltd., APT Pensions Ltd and UMYU Microfinance Bank, Katsina.
He attended seminars and conferences in diverse fields. An Associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Management, the officer has written and presented papers on Management Practice and Production scheduling.
A graduate of Law Degree (LL.B) from Bayero University, Kano (BUK) in 1987 with second class (Upper Division). He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988 and acquired a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management in 2001 and Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) from ABU Zaria.His working experience started in 1988 as a Youth Corper at Oyebimipe Law Chamber, Ilorin. He joined Ministry of Justice, Katsina State and left in 1993 as Senior State Counsel. He served as Chairman, Rent Tribunal, Funtua between 1991 to 1993. He joined the Company in 1993 as Ag. Company Secretary (Senior Manager) and was promoted in 2002 to Assistant General Manager position. He is now a Deputy General Manager (DGM) and heads the Management Services. He doubles also as the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Company.
As Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, he acquired vast corporate legal and secretarial experience. He also served mostly as Secretary of various State Committees. He attended many workshops and seminars within and outside the Country and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Katsina Branch, Member Chartered Institute of Industrialist and Administrators. He is married with children.
